Ah, relieved to hear mine are not the only ones, and that a sickly specimen may recover the next yr.We've had such wet weather here I'm not sure lack of water can be the whole issue. I wonder whether they thrive long-term in containers? I've always thought of them as an in-the-ground plant.

Aphids on runner beans. What to do?
Squish and leave the rest to the ladybird grubs because those Ladybirds you have now will be laying yellow eggs at the moment and if they do the aphids will go.

Fungus Clear Ultra 2 - is this spray safe once it's dried on the plants?
Thanks all. I certainly wouldn't leave the container in a place that the dogs could get to it.

Soloman Seal Sawfly caterpillars
I have the sawfly each year and just see it as plant ‘going over’. Luckily other plants disguise the damage (from afar).

What's making these holes in my pots ??
When we have pots with bulbs in them the squirrels are the culprits.

Any idea what is doing this to my hostas?
The slug pellets won’t eradicate all munches - there’s always one that finds a gap, or was hiding under the plant.

We sprayed in early spring for diseases. But, unfortunately, it still happened. Well, I'll just wait until we harvest the crops

Using pennies to prevent plants from snails
I use copper rings around my beans, yes it works, but only to cut down the numbers. I suspect some must ignore and inconvenience/pain and others are either inside the ring or dig under them.

What's Happened to My Oriental Poppies
It looks like Botrytis blight which Oriental poppies can suffer from in wet summers. They can also suffer from downy mildew, I know Beth Chatto stopped selling them because of this.

Antirrhinum wilt
Apparently there is some sort of disease which means the plants can't take up water as the stems get blocked. The plant looks fine and flourishing ... and then suddenly it just wilts.

Ah, I wonder if it is oak caterpillar defoliating my flowering cherry. The canopies of the two touch. It is the first yr I've had a problem.
