You could prune out the dead looking bits; cut back from inside. New leaves will grow to cover the gaps. It may be that you let it dry out too much. I would water more frequently. Box in pots doesn't like drying out in my experience.

If its fine then its ok i thought it might not have some disease.

@pete Hi Pete I had a better look today, i noticed some very small insects running up and down the supporting canes i couldn't see anything on the leaf, if it gets any worse i will give them a spray with something many thanks .

Some of my broad bean plants have brown spots on the leaves and broad bean pods - will this affect the rapidly growing bean pods or the beans inside?If so, is there any "safe" treatment (bearing in mind that I have dogs who regularly mooch around the plants).

There's not a lot you can do about the slugs/snails Elina.The rose black spot is a disease that carries spores. Remove and destroy or bin the diseased leaves and clear away any from the ground too as the spores can lay there and re-infect. Don't add the leaves to a compost heap as the spores...

Well to me it just looks pretty normal.I think the Acer might have a bit of wind damage, Hellebores tend to start looking not so good at this time of the year and the dog wood just looks pretty normal to me Anything growing in the garden is not likely to look pristine, even at this time of...

Thank you Pete, I looked under a few leaves and spotted powdery look. I don't have a hand lens, but fairly certain it is the red spider mite.

Looks like wooly aphids ? somebody will know better than me, I would try the soapy water spray.

Thanks for the advice . I can't see any evidence of green/blackfly . I have given it a spray with Bayer leaf spray , I'll see how it looks in another two weeks.

Hello nimbus to GC. It's a job to say what's causing the damage but here are a few pointers....If there are webs and droppings then you can be fairly sure that it's caterpillar infestation. The cure for that is a spray of Bacillus thuringiensis. It kills the caterpillars without doing any harm...

Ok many thanks, ive just been out and sorted the adults out, even caught them in the act, how rude , I squashed them with long nose plyers, that put a stop to their chocolate I will sort the eggs out tomorrow.

Don't worry about the leaves being stripped they will be replaced. Looking at the new pictures the stem is coming from the graft which makes it difficult to decide whether it's a sucker or not. Looking at the amount of thorns on the stem would suggest to me it is indeed a sucker. Perhaps our...

Well the wisteria is still alive....waiting for the flowers to open. Unfrotunately my other two got hit by that late frost so has killed some of the flowers. Would have been gorgeous!
