I've got a 4 year old pear tree. So far it is only producing about 5 or 6 fruits each year though this year it has now decreased to two !! I have got orange spots on all the leaves and small black creepie crawlies on a lot of the leaves. This could be why the tree is not doing too well. So,...

Sitting on my gate yesterday bright yellow almost citrus exactly like a ladybird,not sure friend or foe so left it alone

We had the same problem with emergency housing & cat fleas, the place had been empty for a while & then suddenly it was jumping. We didn't use any pesticides, just kept hoovering & it was over in a week or so, they couldn't feed off us (although they tried) and just starved to death.

Looks like mould, cant be good. I agree with westwales most likely because of over watering and too warm. If you water it with 5% hydrogen peroxide should kill it all off.

Sort rats, replace water. Rats are the pits, I had some recently and found out that the poison from the DIY centres are rubbish. Despite a lot of shot rats, you really need a decent poison to kill the nest. My aim improved by the end though... I can't think of any decent cover as rats can fit...

Yep. The dirty boogers are sucking the life out of EVERYTHING. And not many ladybugs around either. Saw a couple today doin the dirty so that means SOME babies. Have seen a couple of hoverfly larvae but need a plague to SORT the plague. I've had those fat, nasty gray blue ones on my lupins too....
