Craig, the thing is, if you hadn`t been watching, they would have been back in you plants. Squash them and they can do no harm, and they most certainly can`t reproduce.

Hello Flowerpotty and welcome. I've looked up your plant in my RHS book and it says that it likes to be in the shade and that it should be pruned down to ground level every spring. Hope this helps.
