Victoria, sorry to hear that.I think you do need to use a little fat to be successful otherwise the potato slices just go all rubbery in the microwave instead of crisping up. I've wiped a little sunflower oil on them with kitchen roll when we ran out of the spray - that works too.

it most probably is, as I just re-read the pack, and it's definately not smoked (the colour of the bulb is dark grey/black) .... tastes good though
