    Barley straw ?

    Do it early in the year (before you have a problem). Put it in your diary for next year :)It takes a while to work, I reckon 28 days, and once you have a problem that gets bad, fast, and quicker...

    Cheers for advice. Well I decided to empty it as the pump and filter just didn't seem to be clearing it and I am glad I did , there was that much muck and sludge on the bottom it was unbelievable...

    If you have ever tried removing a large water lilly from a pond you will know it aint easy. Transportation would also be a problem.Might be easier to just take the photos at a pond that...
