    Solar pump for water feature advice please

    Head height,flow and wattage is normally what i look at. I`d try and get power to it instead of solar personally.

    A bit late to the thread but play sand is fine for ponds. I have used it in mine for putting around the shallow margins to protect the liner and to give the plants something to root into...
    A bit late to the thread but play sand is fine for ponds. I have used it in mine for putting around the shallow margins to protect the liner and to give the plants something to root into initially, before sediment has had time to accumulate. Cost about £90 for a builder's bag delivered.

    I think normal soil will turn the water green. I d use aquatic compost if possible to lessen the nitrates in the water. Might be better to part fill with stones /stone and as little soil/compost...

    The feature shown in my avatar photo is 300mm wide and has a 7800 litre/hour pump. There is a regulator (just a plastic tap really) in the hose from the pump. With this I turn the flow rate down...
