Yes but I've been feeding the birds for many years and in that time there's been snow and sometimes it's even lasted for longer than a day!!

when filling the bird feeder next do an alternate layers of Red Pepper spice and the nuts. The mouth of the mouse will burn from the spice, the birds are not affected. Thus the solution. Works same for squirrels.

I put out niger seeds last autumn time to attract the goldfinches no sign of any last year , but just looked out the kitchen window and there're two on the feeder and a whole flock in the hawthorn hedge

How about sedum, I've got 3 patches of it and the bees love it! It's a nice late-flowering plant as well
