Where Are All The Ladybirds?

I picked up a module once that had blown up a corner and there was a huge slug in it laying, I gave them all a generous helping of salt and left it in the sun to wither.

Strange Bee Behaviour
I don't think they can kill the varroa mite without harming the bees a little. but I'm sure I've heard that the varroa mite can only kill honey bees because the mite is unable to get inside bumble...
