RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 26-27 January 2013
I think the birds in our garden knew they were going to be watched as the number of species seen was well down on what we see most days and also well down on last years survey.

Opportunistic (or Lucky Sparrowhawk)
I think the House Sparrow and Starling were introduced to the US (swapped for the Grey Squirrel
) The only bird of prey I saw close up on our US tour was the Bald Eagle.

Well in the summer I'll remove the net and put some pot plants around the pond to deter the herons, but I find the frogs rarely leave the pond during winter, they can get out if they want to, and...
