Another 5 house Sparrows have fledged in next doors eaves nest adding to the 15 or so already around and another 4 young Siskins have appeared making 11 including parents. A fat ball will be demolished in an hour or so by the mob of young Starlings now hanging around the garden.

Hi Pam, I do have Doves, Wood Pigeons, Starlings and the like in the garden but they're not too much of a problem. But, should they get to be, I would think string or wire attached from the top of the Feeder at reasonable intervals via small holes, and knots in the wire or string to stop it...

Put a sponge on the saucer 1st then add the sugar water (no drowning bees). Remember only use honey from the UK but sugar water is best. Spruce

Apparently it nests there each year - one of the locals told me. I don't know how long they live but I guess he meant that each generation continues to nest there.

True Sheal, we have a large living room window looking out on our back garden so I always have it to hand. We never had this number of birds in Weymouth. Joolz, we had a Great Tit briefly visit the table this morning, first one i've seen since March!
