Apparently it nests there each year - one of the locals told me. I don't know how long they live but I guess he meant that each generation continues to nest there.

Hi All, I have aquired a couple of 3 foot sections of a tree trunk and want to make a bird feeder and bird bath. The only way I can think of doing it is to drill into the wood and then chisel out. For the bird bath would i need to put anything in it to hold the water or could I just leave it...

Hi Rusty, No not really as we are trying to gut the back yard as it stands in order to make it a better place to be in. They are living in a pile of broken bits of stone and slab (looks a bit like the flintstones place actually! But it needs to be moved in order to lay a patio area.

The Great Raft Spider, it's bigger relative is only found in the Fens, and can get to about 4/5" long!

Can't be too carefull at the moment, I heard they are thinking about ground to air missiles on Strongy's shed.
