Bad news for birds
As far as I know the European Swallows and Martins aren't suffering with the Mite problem that the American Purple Martins are and I hope they don't. Incidently I think we have only ever had one...
As far as I know the European Swallows and Martins aren't suffering with the Mite problem that the American Purple Martins are and I hope they don't. Incidently I think we have only ever had one record of a Purple Martin in the UK in 2004.

Are you seeing Tree Sparrows?
We are very lucky and have a proper little flock of tree sparrows. Ours tend to be a little more shy than the house sparrows. They are quite a pretty little bird.

Maybe Leylandii isn't all bad ...
Its just that, is it OK to plant lawsons cypress, or maybe thuja, or cupressus, or any conifers for that matter. Most have similar problems regarding cutting back if allowed to get out of hand...
