    Are you seeing Tree Sparrows?

We are very lucky and have a proper little flock of tree sparrows. Ours tend to be a little more shy than the house sparrows. They are quite a pretty little bird.

Maybe Leylandii isn't all bad ...

Its just that, is it OK to plant lawsons cypress, or maybe thuja, or cupressus, or any conifers for that matter. Most have similar problems regarding cutting back if allowed to get out of hand...

Clare; they can eat a lot! We have more than our fair share of fat wood-pigeons visit our bird table. They clean up the seed on the ground the smaller birds scatter so I don't mind too much, they...

    Sparrow terrace built at last

Another great job Karl, we have an extended family of about 10 Sparrows and there is a healthy population here. Large new builds are also the reason for the Swifts' decline too.:(

Which plant do the bees like best in your garden?

Don't see it mentioned above, but try Geum. The bees seem to love it.

Good shot Blueroses. I think Strongylodon's got it right. It's nesting material they're after. That coconut fibre would be just great.
