Absolutely right Lyn.. I have lived most of my life in the country & have kept chickens which are some of the cruelest birds I know... Sometimes swift & drastic action had to be taken with one of them because I couldn't let them suffer.. I do not believe in that.. :eek:

hi imp, know i'm late in looking at this thread & maybe you've already got your binoculars, but if not, if money isn't a problem i know Zeiss is a good name. always used to see them (Zeiss) around when i was a bit of a birder - no, i didn't get them but my ex did!that was about 20 years ago...

Yes, it is probably a buzzard or hawk, we don't have eagles here, but I have seen the buzzard/hawk now and then, gliding or hovering but too high to recognize.Since the flock was not actually croaking like crows do, we are not sure what they could be. We do have lots of crows here so perhaps...
