I will be keeping an eye on it Whis4ey.

The dunnock is one of my favourite garden birds. The best way I could it would be, about the same size and shape as a robin and colours like those of a sparrow but with a darkish grey breast.It likes to feed on the ground and has a lovely song which it sings from hedge and tree branches....

They mainly feed on reptiles :( unlike the other Kingfishers. I remember old Tarzan films when I was young where the background African jungle sounds always seemed to have an Australian Kookaburra!!! :D

Absolutely right Lyn.. I have lived most of my life in the country & have kept chickens which are some of the cruelest birds I know... Sometimes swift & drastic action had to be taken with one of them because I couldn't let them suffer.. I do not believe in that.. :eek:

hi imp, know i'm late in looking at this thread & maybe you've already got your binoculars, but if not, if money isn't a problem i know Zeiss is a good name. always used to see them (Zeiss) around when i was a bit of a birder - no, i didn't get them but my ex did!that was about 20 years ago...

geoff thanks for the advice, that day i had nothing with me coat to flap or bread to throw, but next time i go and it happens i will make sure i have some bread with me. cheers
