Looks like a brimstone to me too! They are incredibly bright - and very cheering at this time of year (though this IS early!) I haven't seen any locally - though there were several to cheer us at Easter time on the Lancashire/Lake District border. Great picture!Scroll down for...

How big are the birds? They may be starlings which like to roost in trees near lights.
