Album: My First Year Gardening!

00000000000000000000000000038808My First Year Gardening! 2023-2024 (So far!)The back of our garden used to have 4 big conifer trees and lots of rocks and pebbles underneath, they were cut down years ago. Since then self seeded shrubs appeared.I decided to create a new flower bed, pulling out the shrubs and old tree roots, sifting out as many rocks, pebbles and stones as possible and improving the soil as much as possible through autumn and winter ready for spring 2024.... I also installed a little wildlife pond to try and encourage frogs, newts or anything else that will eat slugs.I was too scared to rip up any of the lawn to create vegetable beds this year, still have a lot of learning to do first! so 60% of our patio is now a container kitchen garden.Looking forward for the wet start of a summer to end and real summer to bring new blooms and first harvests.
