Busy bees. When they're this busy they don't seem to mind being stroked - which Mrs Shiney does a lot and I do occasionally (and very carefully!).

I went to Ellesmere with my sister and cousin last Sunday, Shiney, and there is a large cafe/restaurant in front of the Mere. It has two 30' X 10' flower beds on either side of the front entrance completely planted with "Annabelle"...........and it was best display i have seen of it for a really long time with no spaces between those huge magnificent flower heads. Obviously a good gardener lives there!!:love30::snorky:

It isn't big but I try to make it look interesting.

(Don't notice the windowsill :yikes: )

Looks jam packed @Michael Hewett bet your talk of the street with that lovely display :)

@strongylodon is the Canna Cleo hard to keep (alive)? My niece is called Cleo and would love something to represent her in my garden. Have never grown Canna's before though.

Not really but a greenhouse is preferable to get the tuber moving in spring as I don't think it is fully hardy. Others here have grown it for longer than me and have more experience with it.
The main problem with Cannas is virus affecting many plants, I believe carried via aphids so it can spread rapidly. It doesn't kill the plants but can give them an unhealthy look.

Thank you @Sheal it took me by surprise ...

... it was meant to be "Plum Tart" :heehee: but that is the chance you take when you buy them from an el cheapo store; not that I'm complaining because it is a fab colour
Now, I wonder what colour the "Priscilla" will turn out to be :think3: :heehee:
