RE: Paladin's "Work..!!" Thread MKII..!! This is Mary Arden's Farmhouse, where I have just renovated the leaded light windows. and this is a Warwickshire wagon on display, that I can honestly say ,my Grandfather used because he worked for that Farmer from the age of ten.
RE: Paladin's "Work..!!" Thread MKII..!! I agree, what a lovely cottage Pal. Sorry to hear about your brothers house.
A country Manor Hotel a few minutes away.. I took out a metal carsement window and fitted a fixed leaded light replacement...the Chef is just visible who made the best bacon sarnie and coffee I've had in a long time
Dormer work today...in the lovely sunny weather fitting D-G Units. The house is in Brize Norton and the airforce base there was mightily busy I can tell you...quite a few million quid on the move
Its a hard limestone, part of the jurassic belt that goes diagonally from Dorset to Northants. You can burn it to make a natural hydraulic lime, but I don't think the owner would like that We got it down here, as well as the golden & cream coloured limestones. Our nearest Oolitic limestone is the Bath stone, which is a much finer Oolite than your Cotswold ones.
Working on a Manor house high on the Cotswold Hills looking toward the Vale of Evesham I was almost poleaxed by the stone work falling out.....missed me by 5 seconds!
