It has crossed my mind although it may upset the locals.

I considered a rope tied to the truck but have this going through my mind

Stump finally removed. Dug under the root ball and then levered it free with the 6' wrecking bar. I couldn't lift it out of the hole so I got the sack barrow underneath it, wrapped a strap around the root, holding it to the barrow and pulled it up the sloping wall of the hole. It must be 18" square and rather heavy. Got to love a sack barrow !
Hole now filled in - will need more top soil to level before grassing. Wellies washed, 3 pairs of gloves left to dry, clothes in the wash, quick shower and waiting for the aches in the morning as this is the most gardening Ive done since the rain came at the end of summer.

I had a 5' long metal folding table delivered today that I'd ordered just before Christmas but, to be honest, I wasn't expecting it until the 30th December. It's all part of a redesigning and rethinking of what goes where in the Green House. I've already got an over 7' long table which houses offsets of Alliums, newly planted Alliums, and lots of young Perennial Poppies, Solomon's Seals, Lupins, and lots of tender perennials, and along with a 5' metal, wood topped, double tiered table with the Cacti collection.
But the main problem is that, for convenience, I have a lot of gardening equipment at the end of the Green House and under the tables that should be housed on hooks in the Garage, (I don't know why I call it a Garage as it's never had a Car in since I bought the House as new build.:dunno::heehee:). So I need to empty the Green House of Strimmers, Mowers, Pressure Pumps, Fertiliser in tubs and sacks, Fleeces, canes, chemicals, home made wooden supports for Tomato plants when in buckets, and buckets of string, trowels, forks, and other bits.
So when that is done, hopefully tomorrow, I'll put the new table in, reorganise what goes where, and get ready for Spring. I'll leave space for around 5 to 10 Buckets filled with compost for next year's Tomato Plants with the right number of wooden supports, and, of course, the Green House will need a good sweep out and spray with Jays Fluid in and out, which means emptying the Green House completely, with the tender plants going into the Kitchen for the night.:wallbanging::dunno: There will be more space left in the Green House later in the year as I will move the 5' table of Cacti onto the Patio under the Kitchen window where it's South facing........a Gardener's work is never done!!:heehee:

Walked about to check if anything needed to be done in the garden around the house. Straightened up a newly planted acacia baileyana that had got blown over some time over the last few days. Seemed to go back to vertical easy enough and pushed a lump of mud into the space left in the ground when I lifted it upright and it stayed up without much difficulty. Still only about 60cm tall so not a major undertaking. Found some straw pieces on some newly formed hellebores flowers and picked them off to let the blooms show more clearly. Pushed aside some rough looking lavender to make the coprosma/mirror plant easier to see. Picked a hand full of weeds and threw them into the hedge. Only about 20minutes of gardening today with the fairly persistent drizzle making things so damp.
