It's just for runner bean posts!!! :heehee: :loll:

    Good morning everyone,

Thanks for your nice comments about my photo. The Lake district lends itself very well to dramatic photos - I just stood there and snapped it :).

Kandy, I wasn't in Essex for the cold night - I was still oop north :heehee:

Today is forecast to be 24C and this morning started off, at 4.30, with the warm sunshine painting the tops of the trees a soft golden colour. I was going to take a photo but there were seven pheasants having breakfast in the garden and I didn't want to disturb them.

Lots of catching up still to be done here. I've helped some of the runner beans climb the canes. Most are climbing without nay problem but some always seem to have trouble finding the cane. I tie them to the cane with little bits of wool and wind them around it. It seems to speed up their growth rate when I do this as they don't have to waste time weaving about trying to find something to climb.

Mrs shiney picked some tomatoes yesterday from the plants that Kristen brought along. Our plants are growing very well but are not as advanced as Kristens. Thanks Kristen

    Have a great day :D

Hiya Jack........we are building a deck on our house, its roughly 530 sq ft....and the building codes here are a little over the top.

Hello Shiney, Kandy and Co., Well it is a beautiful day here today. I have my sheets out on the line and I thought I would take advantage and wash the mattress and pillow protectors as well. Lets hope I get them dry and aired as I do not have spares of them. Don't want to put clean sheets back on the bed with out the protectors as with my diabetes I scratch a lot and make myself bleed on my arms and legs and body and of course then these places refuse to heal very well. I do apply E45 to arms and legs but it doesn't stop the itching, not sure whether it is the diabetes, the Metformin or the tramadol causing it.

I have quite a few lovely cucumbers hanging in the greenhouse but I am disappointed by the size of the tomato trusses and the distance between them. I think perhaps I had not been putting enough air on them. My son cleaned off some of the leaves to allow more air round them yesterday. Tickled me a Nurseryman's son he couldn't help himself. Bless him.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Good morning everyone,

Moyra sorry to hear about your problems with the itching and hope you find some relief from it I don't have an itching problem with Metformin. My sister swears by Sudacrem which she reccomended for my dry skin but I find it too greasy so have gone back to using my St Ives lotion which I find very good.:D

Your cucumbers sound like they are coming on very well although I do hope your tom plants pick up.We haven't grown indoor ones for years and are hoping we have a good year again with our outdoor ones. All the washing I got irioned the other afternoon while watching the tennis had aired nicely in the conservatory with the heat so was able to put it all away yesterday :happydance:

Had a good afternoon over at the lottie yesterday as it was nice and warm so got lots done but I see it has gone a bit cooler today so will see what I do after going to feed my friends cats who I am looking after while she is away :D

Hope you all have a good day :)

      Good morning everyone,

I've got a busy day today. A couple of meetings in the morning then another two in the afternoon followed by a BBQ (all business people :rolleyespink:). Then home again in time to get ready to go to the bridge club. I'll have short breaks in between all this to pop home for a cuppa :)

Kandy, it's still mild here but a bit dull. The forecast says we may get rain on Friday so I still have time to get a little bit done in the garden.

Moyra, see whether you can get some Hypercal cream from a health food shop. Hypercal Cream - Nelsons UK it may help :thumb:

Re trusses, I try not to talk about mine :heehee: or how to get enough air round them :loll:

      Have a great day :D

        Hi Moyra
my OH (also severely diabetic) used to have similar problems and has been prescribed E45, Aqueous cream etc for years.
A few years ago she was advised to try Evening Primrose Oli (not by her Doctor). She now does not have the problem and no longer gets the creams from the Doctor. He now prescribes Gamolenic Acid (Evening Primrose).
I hadn't been his idea initially, but the fact that the rashes disappeared and the sores had gone was impressive.
Each time she was asked to stop the EPO the problems came back. Doc. is now a convert also.
EPO is herbal and can be bought over the counter. It may be worth a try.

Evening all, Thanks very much for all your recommendations. Perhaps I will try EPO as it is a well recognised product. E45 is good but it just doesn't seem to have any lasting effect. I think it may be the tramadol which is the main course of it. Terrible drug to dry and get off. But it did give me relief from the sciatica and I was screaming out for relief so I mustn't be too depreciative of it.

Shiney, hmm Glad to hear your trusses are not for open discussion.

          Have a good evening all.

Good morning everyone from a dull and slightly damp middle part of blighty, but am I complaining...Yes because the snails are out in force again although I do have a container full of them now which is going to be taken over to our woodland to feed the Song and Mistle thrushes we have spotted over there:D

Shiney, Woo,and Moyra I think you might be in for a spot of the wet stuff this morning as it looks like most of the country will get some rain today but just hope it doesn't bring on the blight on the spuds :gaagh:
Gcc,sorry to hear about your other half having diabetes and the problems that comes with it,and touch wood apart from terrible side effects when i first started the meds,I am managing to keep it under control for now.I have never heard of EPO buit it sounds to be a good natural product:thumbsup:

Anyway,I had better go and get myself ready as I am kitty cat sitting this week and want to go and get them fed and fussed before the rain starts so hope you all have a lovely day :)

          Good morning everyone,

Another mild sunny morning. If the rain doesn't get us today it is scheduled to be heavy tomorrow.

Moyra, an open truss is a waste of time :heehee:
Evening primrose is good . The Hypercal cream is made from Hypericum and Calendula so also comes from plants. :dbgrtmb:

I've another busy day :phew:. Plumber coming this morning, then shopping, two meetings and a visit to the hygienist. In the afternoon I'll try to catch up on more paperwork.

Kandy, I'm sure you are enjoying your kitty sitting :kittykiss:

          Have a great day :D
