First off......Shiney.....i LOVE that picture, its stunning!!!!

We had a busy busy weekend, we cut concrete to make way for 2 post holes, used an auger and dug out 11 post holes, and mixed 56 bags of cement to fill those darn holes, and made 2 support beams, at 30 feet long..........i am sooooooooooo sore today....oh and we are putting the first coat of paint on the new bathroom tonight too.....but its good to be busy.

We had wall to wall sunshine all day again yesterday although I missed part of it because I was watching the tennis.:D

Got over to the lottie in the evning though with Mr K and then rushed back home to get our fix of Springwatch and the lovely Martin

Its sunny here, but a little cool, but supposed to be nice as the week goes on.

I have some errands to do for Brad, was supposed to go to Toronto today, but looks like that will now be tomorrow.....have a great day everyone.

Hiya Jack........we are building a deck on our house, its roughly 530 sq ft....and the building codes here are a little over the top.

 

Hello Shiney, Kandy and Co., Well it is a beautiful day here today. I have my sheets out on the line and I thought I would take advantage and wash the mattress and pillow protectors as well. Lets hope I get them dry and aired as I do not have spares of them. Don't want to put clean sheets back on the bed with out the protectors as with my diabetes I scratch a lot and make myself bleed on my arms and legs and body and of course then these places refuse to heal very well. I do apply E45 to arms and legs but it doesn't stop the itching, not sure whether it is the diabetes, the Metformin or the tramadol causing it.

I have quite a few lovely cucumbers hanging in the greenhouse but I am disappointed by the size of the tomato trusses and the distance between them. I think perhaps I had not been putting enough air on them. My son cleaned off some of the leaves to allow more air round them yesterday. Tickled me a Nurseryman's son he couldn't help himself. Bless him.

Moyra sorry to hear about your problems with the itching and hope you find some relief from it I don't have an itching problem with Metformin.My sister swears by Sudacrem which she reccomended for my dry skin but I find it too greasy so have gone back to using my St Ives lotion which I find very good.:D

Your cucumbers sound like they are coming on very well although I do hope your tom plants pick up.We haven't grown indoor ones for years and are hoping we have a good year again with our outdoor ones.All the washing I got irioned the other afternoon while watching the tennis had aired nicely in the conservatory with the heat so was able to put it all away yesterday :happydance:

Had a good afternoon over at the lottie yesterday as it was nice and warm so got lots done but I see it has gone a bit cooler today so will see what I do after going to feed my friends cats who I am looking after while she is away :D

my OH (also severely diabetic) used to have similar problems and has been prescribed E45, Aqueous cream etc for years.
A few years ago she was advised to try Evening Primrose Oli (not by her Doctor). She now does not have the problem and no longer gets the creams from the Doctor. He now prescribes Gamolenic Acid (Evening Primrose).
I hadn't been his idea initially, but the fact that the rashes disappeared and the sores had gone was impressive.
Each time she was asked to stop the EPO the problems came back. Doc. is now a convert also.
EPO is herbal and can be bought over the counter. It may be worth a try.

Evening all, Thanks very much for all your recommendations. Perhaps I will try EPO as it is a well recognised product. E45 is good but it just doesn't seem to have any lasting effect. I think it may be the tramadol which is the main course of it. Terrible drug to dry and get off. But it did give me relief from the sciatica and I was screaming out for relief so I mustn't be too depreciative of it.

Shiney, hmm Glad to hear your trusses are not for open discussion.

Good morning everyone from a dull and slightly damp middle part of blighty,but am I complaining...Yes because the snails are out in force again although I do have a container full of them now which is going to be taken over to our woodland to feed the Song and Mistle thrushes we have spotted over there:D

Shiney, Woo,and Moyra I think you might be in for a spot of the wet stuff this morning as it looks like most of the country will get some rain today but just hope it doesn't bring on the blight on the spuds :gaagh:
Gcc,sorry to hear about your other half having diabetes and the problems that comes with it,and touch wood apart from terrible side effects when i first started the meds,I am managing to keep it under control for now.I have never heard of EPO buit it sounds to be a good natural product

Anyway,I had better go and get myself ready as I am kitty cat sitting this week and want to go and get them fed and fussed before the rain starts so hope you all have a lovely day
