Funnily enough, I like that bit. So optimistic! I get more and more disillusioned as things wear on and I find that I really should have done that tedious tension square before I launched into things, or that I haven't kept count of the rows properly, or that the garment isn't quite what I had in mind anyway. :heehee:

      Hi,
I love knitting/crocheting but it doesn't love me very much:o I knitted a couple of cardi's for my son when he was a baby and another when he was about 3. I was so surpised a few years ago to discover he has kept it - he's coming 21 now!
The best thing I've made is a zig-zag blanket which gets used a cover for a settee and the bed if needed in the winter.
You've made me think about getting the needles out again this winter, and will maybe do some blankets for charity.
Would love to find a nice pattern for a bed-jacket although it hasn't been needed for the past few years or near future, ladies you will know why!!
      Thanks for this thread.

Borrows this pattern would knit up well as a bed jacket with the right type of wool.

Just curious: what do you do in the knitting group...is it like a lesson, or a coffee afternoon where if you want to knit you do that, or just intensive knitting...
I have often been thinking of joining one, but i think that I would be too embarassed to knit in front of somebody...

I like to knit and crochet but only small project. Just started a scarf in the new galaxy wool that is just out with tiny sequins.

I put some of my makes here on my blog:

          Chunterings......: Knitting and Crochet

Knitted clothes are back in now - and might have a go at something bigger!

I would love being able to knit gloves, but it does not seem to be the easiest of project. Also because if you look at the position of the thumb finger, it is not at the same level as the others which makes it a bit of a complication.
Anyway, I will try one day when I feel adventurous...
I found this for you in the meantime
