      Now, being a tight git, I am going to save some of my marmande, maskotka and millefleur seeds for next year - will the seeds still be OK if the fruit has been in a fridge for a couple of nights?

      They should be fine FC, as they are still contained within the fruit. :)

        To save seed from your tastiest plant, I think it's best to let a fine looking specimen stay on the plant until mature and on the point of giving up. Then remove it and use those seeds for your next year's stock. I'm sure our Seasoned Gurus will be able to offer best practice hints,

              You know you have to "ferment" them and all that jazz before storing them for sowing next year? (and don't save seed from F1 varieties, unless you fancy doing lucky-dip :) )

                The info from Real Seed Co has already prepared me thanks Kristen, hence having the jars ready. I am going to put them in the outhouse to ferment there, as they reckon they get a bit smelly and mouldy. I haven't grown any F1 that I know about, unless Ailsa Craig's are - even if they are, I am not intending saving any of those ones anyway.

                  Its interesting that the woman in the video adds water straight away, whereas the advice at the bottom of this page is to ferment for three days first, then rinse a few times having removed the poor seeds?

                  I take it either method will be as good as the other?
