    @Gdnam...
Luckily the wind had dropped so the drive was uneventful:dbgrtmb:....apart from the wrong turning:whistle:...all because the 'lady on the sat nav' said that was the right way to go.....driving through York at rush hour with a 24ft caravan isn't much fun.....must add...i wasn't driving....I use a map;)

      Aloha everyone,

Yesterday's bright sunshine (don't ask about the afternoon weather :heehee:) has returned this morning

Loli, the dogs will soon keep away from the pheasants if they react the usual way - loud squawks and flying directly towards them :snork:.

Steve, I hope you get some more work soon. :blue thumb:

I've been asked to show my face at a networking meeting at lunchtime. I don't usually go to these sort of things but they want me there! The main topic is about the possible expansion plans of a town near me. Although everyone there will be in favour of it I think they want me there because I always ask the awkward questions :loll:

I've got to go into the town anyway as I'm sorting out some things for one of the people I look after. It's all about these stupid new medical interviews for benefits. The poor sod is almost totally immobile but he filled in part of a form incorrectly and they've said he's capable of work so may lose his benefit. They only need to look at his medical records properly! The records say that he may be able to work if he has stem cell treatment - but the treatment is not available. They, of course, have just extracted the words 'may be able to work'. They're not going to like what I'm going to say about their systems and the people who do the assessments! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Tomorrow I have more meetings but also have to sort out some stuff for someone else I look after. I don't know what it's about yet but I'm bound to have fun dealing with it.

      Have a great day

      Aloha!

@shiney, I know all about those 'Medical Interviews', at mine the nurse who interviewed me put in her report that as I could scratch my head and open a door, I was fit to work. This despite the fact that I had lost 4/5ths of the strength in my arms, could not grip a pen, and had constant pain and severe pins and needles running down both arms and into my hands.

Suffice to say, they tried to stop my ESA. I appealed the decision and was successful, with the comments from the Appeal Panel ( A Judge and a Consultant Doctor) being that I should never have even been interviewed, and they could not understand why there was no reference to my diagnosis from my Consultant in the report.

Just recently, these assessors have decided that my brother-in-law, who is Tetraplegic (paralysed from neck down, due to a RTA), did not need assisted living and could work if suitable employment could be found! Exasperated is not a strong enough word!

Best of luck, go get 'em :paladin:

      Thanks, Steve :blue thumb:

I've been dealing with bureaucratic incompetence for over 40 years. I have very little problem with local authorities nowadays as just mentioning my name usually sorts things out :heehee:. They know that I never fight anything that isn't correct.

National organisations are still learning :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I still do a lot of consumer work as well and the local courts enjoy my little fights :snork:

This is the sort of thing that I would love to do as a job.

Any idea how I could get started?, I have a decent knowledge of consumer law, employment law etc.... and obviously would be prepared to train.

Sorry,I honestly haven't the faintest idea.

I started off, 50 years ago, by just helping some of my customers with problems they didn't know how to handle. Most of them were very easy to sort out. I then volunteered to help our local Consumer Office, that was run by the Council, with advice on my work. I then got more interested in studying some laws after watching a BBC TV sitcom series called "A P Herbert's Misleading Cases" (1967 - 1971).

I then started fighting cases for my staff (typically, holiday problems etc), customers and friends. Most of them were simple misunderstandings or companies just trying to get away with what they could and were easily sorted out (I made phone calls, put on a posh voice and used long words :heehee:). About twice a year I ended up in court for them. I've had about 30 court cases and not lost one yet :blue thumb:.

I suppose you could contact your local Citizen's Advice Bureau to volunteer. You won't get paid but you may get some free training. From there you may get ideas of where you could do it as a job.

With me, being non-professional I don't have to stick to the rules that the legal profession have to and can say almost anything I like when handling a case. I never tell a lie when handling a case but I'm very good at giving the wrong impression! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

          Aloha everyone,

Lovely morning but chilly here. I have done my washing plus Steve's sheets but cannot do my sheets with 2 dogs occupying the bed. Methinks I may have to leave my bed until Bertie goes home.

Loli, Glad you arrived safe and sound.

Steve , sorry you do not have any suitable work to do.

Shiney, as I have said before you are a very handy man to know.

WOO, hope all is well with you and yours.

Penny, good to see you. I note that you have had your first frosts.

Have a great day everyone, time to take the dogs for another walk. God bless.

Sorry that was awful of me to ask like that, but I am a great believer that if you don't ask questions, you don't get answers.

Thanks anyway, I served for 7 years as Branch Legal & Medical Officer, with the CWU and attended many courses, although that was some time ago.

Good thinking about the CAB, I'm in town tomorrow so will pop in and have a chat.

Steve, I never mind people asking :blue thumb:. If I wasn't happy answering I would either say so or ignore it. :)

You're welcome to ask at any time and am happy to give help and advice if at all possible. :dbgrtmb:

              Morning All,
              No work today

My right arm was giving me lots of grief yesterday so didn't get much done. Feels a lot better this morning, so will try and dodge the showers and get out in the garden.

              Have a great day everyone.

              Aloha everyone,

Not so nice this morning but not so cold either.

Steve sorry to hear you were in a lot of pain with your right arm yesterday. I am suffering at the moment with a bunion on my left foot. It is the shoes that I walk the dogs in have aggravated it. They are all worn down one side. Need throwing. Now I shall have to wear my sandals that allow the bunion to pop through the straps! not ideal but it works.

I hope everyone else is ok. Have a good day all. God bless.

              Aloha!:wub2:

              Aloha everyone,

Sun is trying to come out :blue thumb:

Busy day today. Got a curry to cook this morning as well as needing to pick up some glass for Mrs Shiney that's being cut by the glass company. I'd also like to get a couple of lawns cut before lunch.

Then off to Barry to sort out some awkward documents that have arrive at his place. Then straight on to a meeting and won't be back until this evening.

              Hi ho, hi ho! :)

              Have a great day

              Aloha!
