What's Buzzing or Flying near you today... 2015

Hi, a few pictures taken in my garden this morning.

 

This bird was stuck.

 

Bee in one of my tunnels earlier today, nearly 25mm/one inch long with distinctive banding of the abdomen, couldn't get a clear pic as it wouldn't stay still and I react very badly to bee stings, rescued it with one of the seaside kid's fishing nets I keep in every tunnel/greenhouse for rescuing insects. Maybe @Spruce will know what it was.

 

Lackford Lakes nature reserve today. One of the highlights was a family of Canada geese with goslings in tow.

buzzing, but not flying yesterday - some bumble bees deciding that it was too cold out there!



a visitor this morning, just prior to release. I guess we might have hornets again this year...

 

....sorry, the bumbles look fine and cute on the laptop, peeping out of the nestbox, just as they did in real life. But doesn't work v well on the tablet...

 

They look lovely to me Sian. Not daft are they !!

Hi @Trunky, I love Lackford lakes, we've not been there for sometime. I'm pleased to see it's still at tracking fantastic wildlife .

 

Well, we're are not checking anything! except may be where the food is coming from.
