In New York, I was taken to a hotdog bar and they served a drink which had mahoosive tapioca beads in it; you drank it through a straw with extra large hole. It was scrummy!

 

I might suggest that there is a good reason for that!

I've now got a bizzarre hankering for meat rissoles I dread to think what was in those!

Missed those but the main (most important) thing for me was proper English tea. And Marmite.

Anyone had any Shiphams paste lately? That was a staple of lunchboxes when I was a kid.

 

Toffee. Lovely great big lumps of it that would weld your mouth shut.
If I was to try that today I`d loose a crown or two,a few fillings and probably a tooth too.
A 50p toffee would mean a £800 dentists bill and hours of pain
