Don't forget the blob of jam on top @clueless1 It won't be the same without the blob of jam ;)

In New York, I was taken to a hotdog bar and they served a drink which had mahoosive tapioca beads in it; you drank it through a straw with extra large hole. It was scrummy!

We would have a whip round for you, but Royal Mail will no longer carry liquids (and no, I am not kidding!) - we could get away with the OXO cubes though......

I might suggest that there is a good reason for that!

I've now got a bizzarre hankering for meat rissoles  I dread to think what was in those!

I still make semolina once in a while - with the obligatory blob of jam of course.

Blimey, if you are going to marry me for a blob of jam, I can't wait to find out what I get offered when you find out about my rice pudding!

Hi Sandy Ground, I've lived abroad a fair bit too and missed many things, my main two were Chip Shop Vinegar and Daddies Sauce.

I'd be more than happy to put some oxos and vinegar in the post for you, just PM me.

                    GG

p.s. I tried to reply before, but I keep getting errors.

You would need to find a courier who would handle it :)

Missed those but the main (most important) thing for me was proper English tea. And Marmite.

Anyone had any Shiphams paste lately? That was a staple of lunchboxes when I was a kid.

Toffee. Lovely great big lumps of it that would weld your mouth shut.
If I was to try that today I`d loose a crown or two,a few fillings and probably a tooth too.
A 50p toffee would mean a £800 dentists bill and hours of pain :yikes: ;)

Ok then, we've had the south east and Wirral what about us Black country folk..............

Pigs tail stew, pigs trotters, proper black pudding ( not the rubbish they sell nowadays ), faggots and brawn.
