When I was growing up it was known that some of the "down and outs" would get arrested before Christmas as in prison they got some form of Christmas dinner.

Yes, a gentleman of the road in our village and the local bobby had an agreement that the first would threaten to break a shop window and the second would arrest him. Just so.

Alma Cogan, for those who remember her, sang the perfect song for this Chinese property.

Surely 'Covid baby' should actually have resulted in the child being more advanced in certain areas such as toilet training and other activities. The parents would have spent more time with them, not less. I can understand interaction with others being affected, although our great-nephew certainly doesn't have problems in that area. He's a well adjusted 4 year old (if there can be such a thing:smile:)

“More time with” doesn’t necessarily equate to “more quality time with” though. And parents not really up to the task denied contact with other parents get less informal learning opportunities about what is considered normal, expected milestones, etc.

Gordon Brown used a felt tip pen a lot, but he did have problems with his eyesight rather than his brain.

Just been to an interesting but horrific talk on plastic waste in the oceans. Having seen Trumps latest directive, I’m now wondering whether there is any point planning for a future of the planet. Really, really depressed now.

in order for him to have to stop paper straws at his level, it must have been started at his level, probably by Biden. He should just give it up to let all restaurants or food service folks decide for themselves.
