I'm using a PC which is cable to a router and sometimes a HP laptop connected by wifi nowt else

How would one change DNS, is it easy or very hard?
NOt on ipad, main computer cable to router and some time i use a laptop over wifi but both are the same, i've just hoovered over the alert button...
I'm with BT as well, what's all this about change DNS servers? as some people know all about this sort of thing, basic plain english please2...
