Yes it is annabelle but strong annabelle I still put support in for it.
The picture you've provided isn't a salvia , the biggest give away is the shape of the stems they should be square. I looks to be a fine specimen...

Sowed some seeds today winter pansies - bellis and wallflowers bit to late really just another thing I haven't got round to this year , i doubt...
They grow like weeds here they love the damp/wet climate , I buy plants I have few variety's fascination - daine - pink glow . I've never manged...
