These look like warm climate plants, but they are in fact cold climate plants, they thrive and grow best in temperatures between 7C and 15C
I would say Garrya elliptica which is smothered in Irish Ivy.. The Irish Ivy is obvious as you can see it scrambling up the tree trunk.
