    Cothey,you are correct that they do eventually break down but a few of the newer ones that I bought from B&Q when they had an offer on the other year and before my friends gave me their spare ones are still going strong as they seem to have been made from a stronger material.When one starts to rip I just empty it and chuck it away and then get another one from my stack of spares:D
