Lots of work again this week. Another bench made for the Poly Tunnel made. Planted lots of seeds in trays and straight in the soil. Perennials and veg mostly but also tried some annuals. Bought loads of seeds online and then another 15 packets from LIDL (29p and 49p a packet bargain)

Everything seems to be doing well. It is very exciting for me as this is the first time I have really planted anything from seed. The first lot have taken a wee while to show as I think I put too much compost over the seeds. My wife has had a bit more success with the propagation and the kids particularly my lad have also planted quite a few things. There was a queue at the potting bench last night with all 4 of us vying for position. Both kids are waiting for their Russian Giant Sunflowers which have just broken the surface of the soil.

Lots more work done in the garden this week. I never thought I could find gardening quite as engaging. The work is hard but the rewards are well worth it. I'm not a morning person but I wake up thinking of the garden and the seeds I have planted. Before work I have a stroll to see how things are getting on. What a nice way to start the day.

Lots of planting this week. Most of the plug veg plants are now out and look like they are doing well. I have built a couple of bamboo structures for the beans and pees. I'm really pleased with those and they look much better than I hoped. Nearly all the seeds we have planted are germinating and I will struggle to find a space for everything. The wife and I spent a lovely hour in the Polytunnel tonight sheltering from heavy rain. We planted the Toms and repotted peppers and Strawberries. The growth in the tunnel is really good and the same strawberries we planted outside are doing a good bit better inside.

The kids are also going to be amazed when they next visit the tunnel. Their giant Sunflowers are practically growing in front of your eyes. All the spaces are starting to fill up so we will have to find some new spots in the garden to plant more veg.
