No problem with the seed, I will save fresh, though I do have sixty odd saved that Angelina sent me
Again it all depends on the taste, pointless having large sacks of tasteless water,
I am sure they will be tasty, Angelina's gran has grown these in the family for many many years

Oh dear, last year we classed 'biggest' as the heaviest and there hasn't been any specific requirement this year (as there's never been any established 'rules' for this compo) so suggest it's open to any regular GC poster who submits a pic of their tomato sitting on some scales, preferably with the measured circumference also stated.

Its a valid point, might I suggest it go by weight, as there are different varieties that would give an unfair advantage due to the shape if it were based solely on girth.

Yay yay yay Jack. They look formidable and no sign of going red yet. Still time to grow on some more..:dbgrtmb:. Are they supported to an overhead gantry?

No they are just hanging on the stems
I was thinking of putting them in the orange net bags and taking some of the weight, only my luck interference would snap them off the truss
Also the proof is when/IF they turn red

@Jack McHammocklashing ,my Angelo has stopped growing - he was 12.5" five days ago and is still that circumference but green.
Is that it? I'm a newbie to all this,

Your biggest one looks like its just about to turn red Jack, any ripe fruit you got lying about, put it in there for the gas.

No idea Jenny, I am new to this too
I am not in or trying for the competition, just growing food :-)

I have ONE red tomato maskotka outside but several others are sort of yellowish

They get a sort of translucent look to them before they go red. If they've got that then they can still ripen if they come off.

If they're still a solid looking green they won't ripen unless they stay on the plant longer.

                      Hiya @Loli

Since nobody seems to mind, I'd like to offer up this one for the comp....

                      'Country Taste'

                      PICT0027 (1280x960).jpg

I've been quite impressed with this variety. With no special treatment, it's consistently produced large fruits. Some of the trusses have had 6 or more fruits, and although some were smaller than others, even these were of a good size. I suppose to go for even bigger fruits, I could have limited each truss to a maximum of 4 fruits, maybe less. As for flavour, they're not bad, but I would normally use these for cooking anyway.

                      Cheers...Freddy

Sorry for the fuzzy pic, can't seem to get the camera to focus. Anyway, it comes in at 33cm's
