Is there anything in the competition rules that says:

    THE ENTRY MUST BE RED?

Unless the answer is NO, I think Angelo will have to be ruled out of the contest...

There's no rules whatsoever that I can find on this thread. Giant vegetable competitions permit green tomatoes. If anything it can be the opposite of green toms that get rejected as very often the rule is that they must be sound fruits, meaning no rotten tomatoes.

    Example:

The camera is playing up again! I'll try and find the point and shoot over the weekend and try and get some piccies.

Largest of my "Big Boy" weighed in at 411g, nowhere near last year's weight but I have a few more developing............. My big "Big Zac" will be considerably bigger/heavier although I doubt it'll reach the 2lb mark.

My "Early Goliath" have been neither early or goliath's, they taste good though as do "Better Boy" which again haven't produced any really large fruits. Both were freebies that came with the Big Zac seed (thankyou Lesley).

Unlike last year, I've more or less left my tomatoes to do their own thing this year, perhaps I'll give them a bit more attention next year because I'll definitely be growing them again.

My (non-megabloom) Phil's Fantastic in post #209 is now 14.75 inches girth and still growing. I also have a megabloom (so wont weigh as much based on girth) and one that's that's 15.5 inches girth but may have stopped growing and an Omar's Lebanese that's 15 inches girth and still growing strongly.

I might try a tentative weighing with scales under my biggest toms.

Why oh why didn't I sow it earlier? :dunno:

The plant I've raised from saved seed courtesy of last years champ is producing a very heavy, oval shaped fruit, it won't beat my "Big Zac", not enough time left but maybe, just maybe, if I'd sown the seed earlier?
