Harrogate show was mid september, how about aiming for that date. As for other rules..I have no idea!

          Steve...:)

That's whats I was going to suggest:

            1) That the 2013 Harrogate show date of 13-15 September be used - so 13th Sept 2013 should be the weigh off date.

            2) There's some sort of cut off date so somebody doesn't join in say late August and say 'hey I've got a bigger onion and I've won your contest'. Perhaps the April delivery date for delivery of onion plants and about the latest possible date for planting onion sets?

            3) All those entering be required to submit some pics & updates of progress. This will ensure both continued interest and avoid the potential for somebody joining this forum/contest in early Septembers and proclaiming "hey I've got a bigger onion and I've won your contest".

            4) But if the likes of Peter Glazebrook, Vegmandan, Medwyn Williams, etc. wish to enter our competition, then fair enough, as long as they also share information with the rest of us.

I'm in, but to be honest I will be happy if I simply get some onions to grow at all, never mind grow big - is there a 'juniors' section? :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

                  Hiya folks.

Personally, I think that too many rules MIGHT put people off:dunno: However, it's best to get any issues sorted out right from the start, imo:blue thumb: I'm quite happy to go with the flow. Maybe more folks could add more thoughts? Remember, it's just a bit of fun!
                  I'll get me coat:runforhills: :heehee:

                  Cheers...Freddy
