    Hello chums:)

    Right, here it is.....

    PICT0001 (960x1280).jpg

    PICT0002 (1280x960).jpg

    PICT0004 (1280x960).jpg

Seemed a shame, but thought I'd cut it open. You'll notice the off-colour layer...

    PICT0005 (1280x960).jpg

    PICT0006 (1280x960).jpg

Not sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm thinking the flavour will be tainted?

    Cheers...Freddy

What a belter that is Freddy :) - it should surely be edible, even if you have to discard a layer or two from the outside?

@Freddy 4lbs 2ozs is a fantastic result for a first year's giant onion growing attempt but I reckon you trimmed it too low and it should have been 2 or 3 ounces heavier (to match my table) as other growers only trim off dead leaves and leave the whole remaining 'stem' as part of the onion. Plus you also reduced the weight further by removing outer layers of skins.

                    Yes, that's what I've done:)

                    So, we'll just call it 5lbs then?:heehee:

As I said, I'm hopeful, but I've now lost two Onions for no apparent reason....:noidea:

Thanks @Jenny namaste . It probably won't last long, I love Onions:)

                    Hello chums:)

I've been away for a few days, and was glad to see that so far, no more losses. I measured up my 'reserve', and found that it's 21" round and reasonably firm:blue thumb:

                      It's still growing then Freddy.

Here's mine tonight, 20" round and firm, I don't think mine are growing now, all the leaves are starting to go brown at the tips.
