There's little oxygen left for a full night's sleep as it is. My will be leaving the bedroom soon - whether they like it or not,

Well, I have got hundreds of the things, various varieties, and all at various stages of development - just hope I manage to shift most of them and the rest go on to give me loads to eat.

Yes, mine are being moved out from the bedroom to the garden. Apart from the suffocation and waking up feeling I've been transported to an alien world where the Tomato is the superior race, they have roots creeping out of the pots towards my bed!

I've just potted on another 18 plants, only another 50 to go.

I'm going to try and sell the surplus plants for 50p each up the allotment!

All tomato plants potted on! Acute lack of plant labels and pots now. :cry3:

I've moved mine out to the greenhouse today and I'll have to re-pot this weekend, they seem to have put on a spurt of growth.

              Another brave soul :)

I'm waiting another month before my outside ones go in the ground.

It's also a little cold overnight even in my unheated greenhouse for them, I think a minimum of 10 deg C is needed. Another week or two and I'll start them in the greenhouse.

In the past I've found that tomato plants get 'set back' by cold spells, the leaves take on a reddish hue and the plants stop growing :dbgrtmb:

I read somewhere that is because the cold prevents the plant taking up Phosphorus ??

Been out refilling the quadgrows in the greenhouse - the plants there are coming on well, just starting to flower & in need of a bit of a trim..

Better late than never, Just planted all my Tomato seeds, placed on a windowsill sitting at 18c
Greenhouse still 5c at night up to 17c in the day

I have not seen any of the potatoes I planted six weeks ago, but I dug one up, and it is firm, with growth, so rather than dig them in I will give them a few more weeks, to see if they decide to poke through

I am also in no great hurry.

Last year night temperature surrounding my greehouse during the first week of May dropped to 4 deg and lower several times. Luckily I had the electric heater running those nights.

My experience is that tomatoes stop growing if they get chilled and often don't get going again for a week or so - which may be the very week or so that you would like at the end of the season to ripen the crop.

                      Kevin

Indeed ... plus the week delay at the beginning while the first fruits ripen a week later.
