That's what I am growing - so it could be it's the wrong variety - next year I will have to try something else.

Just about all of the giant pumpkins grown are Atlantic Giants, so I doubt it's a variety problem. But there are two other varieties I have seen called Sumo and Hundredweight.

Measured again quickly this morning, 3 days after the last one, but about 8 hours short of the full 3 days. Growth on my biggest 'kin continues as before at around 10b per day. The 978 plant that was growing at around 4lb per day has stepped it up to around 10lb also.

            427 Plant, 1 Fruit

            118lb Fri
            146lb Mon
            28lb Increase

            978 Plant, 1 Fruit

            69lb.3 Fri
            99lb Mon
            30lb Increase

            1271 Plant, 2 Fruits

            Main vine

            56.1lb Fri
            77.4lb Mon
            21.3lb Increase

            Side Vine

            74.7lb Fri
            88lb Mon
            13.3lb Increase

The 1271 has 2 fruits and I was unsure which one to cut off, its clear above which is growing faster so tomorrow I will be cutting off the side vine fruit, even though its the biggest. Hopefully then all growth will be concentrated on the other fruit and it's growth rate will rise.

            Steve...:)

I'm only feeding a little comfrey feed every couple of weeks...when I remember..lol I put everything into the soil instead. Maybe I should give it some feed.

What are you feeding yours on Richard?

              Steve...:)

This is getting ridiculous, this morning I have cut a 94lb pumpkin from a plant to allow the other fruit to get bigger!!!!!

Here she is now at home in a builders wheelbarrow.
