I'm still struggling to get mine onto bathroom scales...trouble is when the pumpkin is on the scales I can only see the weight area at an angle and as they are digital it just looks like all 8's. Most pumpkins go heavy from their taped size, so I really want to know what it is. Trying to find a neighbour with some older dial scales.

        Steve...:)

Well done Steve, you should be proud!

Sorry to hear the news Loli, but well done for growing bigger than last years. I'm sure you could use the split in the 'kin as some sort of 'scar' when carving it.

          Well done all!!!

I used a bucket Steve and got the scales to 00 with it in then put the kin on top it was a strong builders bucket mind mine was over the tape weight but it was a really hard shape to measure and wanted to under weight rather than over would love to see how yours looks inside mate mine that was like that had no flesh at the end was really odd must have been same seed mate

They were previously 2 seeds for £10!!! (and before that they were free for a while)

Wait until there's a 50% off seeds promotion at T&M and exchange £5 in Tesco Clubcard vouchers for a £15 T&M online code (they'll both work OK together) http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=2280 and get 4 seeds for £5's worth of vouchers, saving 2 for the following year.

With seeds that expensive don't forget to save the packet + order details and claim a refund if they fail to germinate.

Earn extra Clubcard points by getting stuff via Topcashback as their cashback can be converted into Clubcard points with a 5% bonus. Go through them even when using a £15 online code because you will still get 12.6%cashback on the £1.95 P&P which can be exchanged for 26p's worth of Clubcard points. This week we bought £3 pumpkins to get £3 cashback on all our accounts to convert each one into £3.15's worth of Clubcard points http://www.topcashback.co.uk/SnapAndSave/upload/2319 . When you join, immediately refer OH, etc. for membership and get £10/£15? referral bonus. Then they refer somebody else in the household, etc., etc. It all adds up.

T&M "buy" big pumpkins by way of an offer at the netley pumpkin weigh off. They offer £1000 if the pumpkin breaks the UK record and £10,000 if the pumpkin breaks the world record.

The seeds they are selling now are from the new UK record.

When they where giving them away, I got some and also bought some too for I think £5, in total I have had 6 seeds...ALL failed to germinate. No idea why.

There are plenty of free seed available that have come from very big pumpkins and its the genetics of those seed that is primarily important. And then crossing those seed.

I will not be buying these seed but I think many will, I guess some will grow them just because it is a record seed.

                  Steve...:)

I got a couple of free seeds of the "Paton Twins" when they were giving them away in 2012, one germinated - can't recall winning any competitions with the resulting pumpkin though
