Looking good Richard, must be ten foot long now. Are you only growing the one plant this year?

It's almost three meters long Steve so far I have got another two growing too on the fruit plot they are about 2.4 meter long but the one in the photo is the one that's growing strongest I lost my best plant moving it to allotment the wing snapped the vine

          Lolimac
There will be lots of room for its roots in there and will hold the moisture well you could have a idea there

I should of posted the following a couple of weeks ago at the end of May, my apologies for that.

I have dug in some of the green manure now, added some goodies to the soil, erected hoop houses, planted the plants and covered them and they are now growing on. Small but perfectly formed..:) The rest of the green manure has been strimmed down and will be dug in at the end of this next week. Two plants where planted in each hoophouse, strongest one survives! I've marked the photo's so you can see what is in each.

This is my third hoophouse, two plants also in this one, strongest plant survives! This bed was dug over late so had no chance to grow manure and is reliant on soil additions. I also have four backup plants, 3 x 874 Geyelin's and one 1278 Cutrupi. I'm hoping to push a couple of these onto others so they can grow.

Over the last two weeks I have again strimmed the green manure down and dug it in around the tunnel, just two foot all round. The two tunnels at top have each had one plant ripped out, so one remains in each, the third tunnel still has two plants as I am undecided which to keep at this stage.

Today I took the cover and hoops off the 978 Geyelin plant, and again dug over the bare soil. I was surprised to see how far the plants roots had spread, upto 18 inches out from and of the plants foliage. The Plant is still small at this stage, getting on for two feet with the first secondaries just spreading out. Photo's to follow of this.

            Steve...:)

I took the tunnel of this first one a few days ago ago now and dug over the area again as some of the green manure had regrown. This is the 978 Geyelin and it's currently approx 3ft long now. The brick in the foreground gives a sense of scale

This next one is the 427 Geyelin and it's only just had its tunnel removed, it also needs a dig over here and is approx 3.5ft long and noticeably stronger than the first right now.

This is the the whole patch, the 427 at the top. I'll have this patch properly sorted out in a few days from now.

The third tunnel is still in situ (no photo at present) and the plant remaining in there is the 1271 Warner, I pulled out the 874 Geyelin, not because one was stronger than the other, far from it there was nothing to tell between the two the other day, but because I had other 874's as backups. I have planted one of those elsewhere on our plots where the potatoes are growing, so it will replace the area the tatties where in as they are dug up. Of course, I'll have to enrich the soil as I go with this plant.

So, the final line up is:
              978 Geyelin
              427 Geyelin
              1271 Warner
              874 Geyelin

              Steve...:)

How is everyone else doing, can we have an update from everyone over this weekend?

Mines been eaten nearly all the way thru on the main stem, only a bit the size of a little fingernail left.

But it's still hanging on :ouch1: Got a couple of flowers opening.

Back in our first challenge here on GC, I broke the stem on my plant as it was planted..it held 0m and continued growing through the season. Bury the points where leaves meet the main stem, it will root and add to its nutrient/water uptake.

                      Steve...:)

hi guys, I've got a plant that's yellowing, well some of the leaves are and some arent, and some yellowing starting on the tips of another plant. Any ideas? the only thing I can find on the internet that looks like this is nitrogen deficiency and if its anything to do with nitrogen its more than likely too much lol. here are the picks:
