        I'm back! :)
        The move went quite well, although there's still a stack of 'stuff' in the garage to sort out. Main thing though is that I sowed my tomato seed (Sungold) on saturday, so the season has at last started, for me. Thanks for all the good wishes, appreciated:)
        I did see some tomato plants for sale, but not my favourite variety, Sungold.
        BTW, thanks for your kind offer @fat controller :) It'll be interesting to see how I get on with sowing so late, but I'm hopeful:blue thumb:
        Cheers...Freddy

              Welcome back to the Mothership Freddy. Glad your in and finding your way around your new house and garden. It will be very interesting to compare your toms with the rest of us. Mine have gone a darker green and stalled - due to the cool temperatures,
              Jenny

                  Nearly disaster here today - guess who forgot to water yesterday? Been a long hot day here too, so by the time I got home I had wee droopy things all over the place! Needless to say everything has been drenched now, so will hopefully pick back up

                      Well, they'm up!:hapydancsmil:6 days:) I've still got to sort out the 8x6 greenhouse. A bit smaller than I'm used to, but it'll be fine:blue thumb: Out of all the tomatoes I've grown, I find that 'Sungold' is always the first to ripen, so:fingers crossed:
                      Cheers folks:)

                        Doing good here:) Loving the new place and haven't felt so positive in ages. Of course, the garden is tiny by comparison, but there are possibilities;)
                        Did I say I was going to Pilton?:scratch:

                          Hello, I've just joined the forum to read about tomatoes. I've got 23 varieties this year, which is a bit over the top, but hey! Actually, I've got 18 cos I order 5 plants that still haven't arrived.

                          I started them off in late Jan and early Feb indoors and then in an unheated greenhouse. Due to lack of greenhouse space, most of them have gone outdoors now and I've using the greenhouse for my larger indigo rose (130+cm), Zapotec pleated (which I wouldn't want getting pecked by birds) and to boost the late sown plants I got in a swap with a colleague.

                          This is what I'm growing this year:
                          * Tumbling tom (doing great in a container but it does have nearly 30L compost to play with!
                          * Cherola
                          * Indigo rose (huge one in greenhouse and one outside both with immature fruit. Got seed from reputable source and fruit are definately dark already)
                          * Brown cherry (? seed saved from mixed heirloom tomatoes)
                          * Sungold F1 (massive, despite being outside since way back and in the shade)
                          * Ildi (obtained in swap, still tiny)
                          * Tomkin (seed saved from supermarket tomato, probably will be first to ripen)
                          * Divine (forgot the variety but very sweet mini plum saved from supermarket tomato)
                          * Green zebra (saved from heirloom, accidentally gave best seedlings away)
                          Yellow oxheart of some sort
                          * Tigrella? (From heirloom)
                          * Zapotec pleated (one of those concertina'd tomatoes, nearly 150cm tall)
                          * Roma (one is an enormous bush that's got too large for GH already....will need to remove leaves though to let light in to fruit, some of which are 3+cm long already)
                          * 'Aldi plum' (from swap)
                          * Black cherry (obtained in swap)
                          * Jaunne Flamme (enormous plants with lots of flowers)
                          * Bloody butcher
                          * Outdoor girl (both these two are potato leaved/semi-potato leaved)
                          * Ananas noir, Paul Robeson, White tomasol, Black Russian, Marianne's Peace (all on order)

                          I should have grown some very early cherries but my relatives have lots of cherries so I forgot to order any.

                          Looking forward to a good harvest, providing they don't get blight!
