hi all I have had a mixed year up to now couple of pic's
St Pierrie I hope it tastes as good as it looks
and what was supposedly gardeners delight

@alexmac - I think your GD looks like Tigerella to me. Tigerella has a lovely sharp taste, one of my favourites.

Well @fat controller I am even further behind than you (flowers only) so everyone on this thread can now feel quietly smug at their well developed toms! I'm casting around for a legitimate defense and wondering if I am the only one on the thread who is growing from straight plonked in the ground outdoors? (or just a rubbish tom grower ).

I agree with you the supposed GD do appear to be Tigerella as I googled looking to find out what they might be and thought that they could be tigerella. They do have a sharp taste so that just confirms it. I grow all my toms from seed and have never bought or sown Tigerella these were bought as GD and I have eight of them in the greenhouse

58 Tomatoes (tallest 1.4m/4' 7" high, although probably more like 1.5m long as the outer canes are bent to follow the curved profile of the cover) in my 6 x 3m tunnel, sharing it with 8 Cucamelons (growing up raking struts), 60 dwarf French Beans (along sides of path), 2 Climbing Courgettes (at far end) and 250 French Marigolds (everywhere else). At the rate they're growing they'll be up to the apex by the end of the month.

 

Wow, that's so precisely constructed. It looks like that pyramid outside the Louvre art gallery.

 

I chucked away the fixing bolts supplied and used longer ones so I could bolt battens along all the horizontal rails, plus fix additional horizontal battens using saddle clips, then fix 100+ screw eyes as fixing points for the canes. As well a being structural, the raking struts are always less than an arm's reach to hang onto whilst doing stuff like picking toms and removing side shoots towards the back of the 1.2m wide beds.

As temps here went below -3 deg C in May, I had all those toms in 8" pots in crates in both my living room and on my greenhouse path overnight for quite a cold nights, my Red Alert bush tomatoes in Morrisons flower pots (now outdoors) that were covered in flowers were left in tunnels overnight and lost all their blooms, setting them back about a month, otherwise I'd be picking ripe fruits from them now.

 

My toms are just getting flowers on too, although they're in pots, they haven't lived in a greenhouse - so straight outdoors here too! :-)

 

First of this years fruit is nearly ripe.. and its a biggun !
