our tomato seeds arrived this morning , were going to grow 6 varieties this year for some variety

Weve gone for Glacier for an early variety im wondering how early to sow them - we sow in a propergator and grow on on the window sill (south facing) till the greenhouse is warm enough for them

the other varieties were trying are

      Artisan Golden Bumblebee
      Cerise
Ailsa Craig (using these as main crop)
      Indigo apple
      Black Cherry
      Glacier

Weve never grown any of these varieties always grown moneymaker but they arnt the best toms so weve gone for a change

looking for any advice on the above

      Carl & Kirst

I'm growing 'Sungold' on forum members recommendation this year as I couldn't find seed for 'Golden Pearl'. I'm also growing 'Gourmet' which I haven't tried before and have no idea what they're like. My 'Manx Marvel' plants failed last year so I'm giving those a go again too.

Golden rule as far as I'm concerned, plenty of light, and a minimum temperature of 10c.

Good luck with those Sheal, as I know you haven't been that impressed in the past. They are far and away the best tasting, imo :blue thumb:

Zigs, I'm growing them for my daughter to make chutney, I don't like the flavour of them.

                Thanks Freddy. :)

I only have room for 10 plants in the greenhouse. This year I'll be growing 'Sungold' (5 plants) and (if I can find them after my house move) 'Black Russian' kindly sent to me by @JWK . Outdoors, I'll probably go for a couple more 'Sungold's' but am looking for a small(ish) bush variety. I happened to pick up a pack of 'Maskotka' seed last year, but not sure if these will be compact enough to grow in pots? @Jenny namaste ? :)

                    Hi @Freddy ,
Need a bloomin' girt big pot!
                    P1050169.JPG

I've treated myself to a packet of Sungold F1 and Suncherry Premium F1. Got them 45% discount through my local Flower and Hort. Society ( from T & M).
Red Robin are neat and compact but I didn't rate mine for flavour Freddy,

Ahh right. Saw them described as a 'dwarf' variety on the T&M website. So, on the lookout for a good tasting 'dwarf' variety. :)

I'd sow a first batch towards the end of February then a second batch (as back up) in mid-march.
