Well, mine continue to look happy and there are some fledgling fruits on them - but I am way off having a ripe one yet.

Heres my lot - just flowering at the mo! Still along way to go. Theyve never been in a greenhouse though. image.jpg image.jpg

@OxfordNick Which variety is that tom? Got me thinking of doorstrep cheese and tomato sandwiches, It'll be several weeks before I've got ripe beefsteak toms.

Have all the cordon toms got stakes/canes? And I'm sure I can see some sideshoots that need removing. (I'm a bit of of a pot calling the kettle black as I quickly tie stuff up, remove surrounding weeds/rubbish/beer & cider cans, etc. before taking pics to try and make things appear perfect, found a 600mm/2 foot long sideshoot on one of the polytunnel toms this morning).

I spent ages a couple of days ago removing side shoots - they come back quicker than I can snip them off. They havent all got stakes/canes as I ran out...guilty as charged! I did manage to move the empty wine glass though - hence why I won't be doing anything with scissors today - they'll all end up with mohicans!

I had a gorgeous teton de venus tomato today. It was a lot smaller than it's supposed to be and the plant still looks miserable, but that's just due to having pendulous leaves. The plant is 6ft tall and has plenty of larger fruit coming.

I am having a very good year for tomatoes in the greenhouse. We have been picking them for several days now, for salads, sauce and we have enough to give some to family. This year I changed to my own home made media and it has made a world of difference, as the fruit is larger, and, there is more of it. The very large tomato is a Tropic, which is a greenhouse variety. There are other varieties in the greenhouse, like: mortgage lifter, arbason and beef steak.

I am using equal parts of agricultural perlite, builder's general purpose sand, compost and sphagnum moss.

Hi, Can someone give me advice please and tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. One of my smaller tomato plants has just produced its first tomato woohoo :-) well pleased but my 3 big moneymaker plants have flowers but no tomatoes and this is 3 weeks since flowers. They are outside as I don't have a greenhouse. I'm just hoping I get some before summer ends.

Are you feeding them? Temperatures might be an issue too, depending on where you are in the country

Outdoor ones will be much slower - I can see some pretty big side-shoots in your photos. You need to remove these from Moneymaker as the plant is putting all it's energy into producing sideshoots/leafs rather than fruit.

Ah, now I am back on a PC I see your location is Newcastle - knowing that the temps my mum has been getting about 80 miles north of you, I can only assume that it hasn't been all that warm up your way - that will be holding them back a bit.

Keep feeding them a couple of times a week, with tomato food (steer clear of the likes of miracle grow etc as that would be too much nitrogen and only encourage more leaves) and once they get going they will surprise you - moneymakers cropped really heavily for me. @JWK is spot on too - get rid of the side-shoots so they concentrate on their main job.
