      Looking good Tracy.

Depending on the variety and assuming it is a 'cordon' type (i.e. NOT a bush nor 'determinate' type) you need to remove the sideshoots:

Thanks this one is bush one, the other is cordon type,

Dor the corden type, should i remove sideshoots when it just show up, or need wait sideshoots grow bigger, then remove it.

Because was told that sideshoots help roots grow stronger?

It's best to remove sideshoots as soon as possible.

No they don't help the roots, they are drawing energy away from the main growing part of the plant.

Don't notice it day to day, note the tray of onions next to it still only has one germinated out of the whole packet

Good job I didn't pay full price for em or @Scrungee would have slapped me

All of mine reached the transplanting stage a couple of days ago, smallest (most of them) are in 40 per tray cells, largest in 70 x 70mm pots (except JWK's grafted tom which is in a 100 x 100mm pot). A quick count got to about 300 plants. With the next week's minimum temps forecast to be around freezing for the next week, I'm glad that I delayed sowing a bit this year, being put off by a freezing late May last year.

Due to regular electricity power failure, I rely upon Calor gas for my greenhouse for my greenhouse heating, but I'm trying to reduce costs and set up an integrated gas + electric heating system. A growbox with T5 lights at staging level helps keep plants in there a little bit bit warmer and electric propagators on the staging also help keep seedlings down there above min temps.

At the moment, to try and cut down on gas usage, I'm juggling tomato plants between overnight space on high level greenhouse staging, any vacant spaces in greenhouse/indoor growlight boxes or in staging level propagators, but I'm working on a way to use an electric fan heater on overnight Economy 7 to top up gas heater temps and reduce overall fuel costs.
