My best one was only 475g : on the top left on the following compared to a 50p coin:

Well, all the five varieties I've grown this year have/are cropped well. But I although I've been consistent with my watering and feeding on all of the varieties I've found that "Jaune Flamme" suffered from Bottom End Rot to a degree while the others have had none. It's a bit strange as I've grown "Jaune Flamme" for the last 3 years and never had that problem.:dunno::scratch::doh:

"A water-soaked spot at the blossom end of tomato fruits is the classic symptom ofblossom-end rot. This relatively common garden problem is not a disease, but rather a physiological disorder caused by a calcium imbalance within the plant. It can occur in pepper, squash, cucumber, and melon fruits as well as tomatoes."

Hmm, @ARMANDII my Jaune Flamme didn't get blossom end rot, but my Black Trifele and Brin de Muguet did.

Got a Blightwatch alert at 6:31 this morning, when I checked my outdoor toms found them completely wiped out by blight at 10:00 this morning.

Yes, but they have thicker skins (less prone to splitting) and don't go soft and tasteless quickly like Sungolds seem to.

My heaviest Gigantomo this year was approaching 700g, and was from a single blosoom.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that my outdoor toms at home and those in polytunnels at my plot show no signs of blight.

Sorry but that does look like Blight to me. I'd bin the plants (don't compost as that will cause problems for you next year) and don't go near your unaffected plants with the debris. Keep an eye on the picked fruit as sometimes it can suddenly appear and spread amongst them.

Yes, pull them up and burn/bin them.

Some of those "good looking ones" already look a bit dodgy to me, I would quickly go for fried green tomatoes, equally quickly eat red ones and cook/freeze any other ripe toms that can't be eaten ASAP. That's what I'll be doing with our outdoor toms, plus Dog will be getting some of them.

I always keep away from uninfected toms (such as picking, sideshooting, tying up) after handling blighted ones, might not make any difference, but I don't risk it.

Don't use the compost again for tomatoes or potatoes. It will be OK as a much around the flower border though.

                  A question here on seeds.
I have never grown tomatoes from seed .... and going to give it a go next year.

Do any sellers do mixed packs ? ........... looking at suppliers it is around 25 seeds per pack .... will these last a few years ... only going to want to grow 1 plant per variety.

I have found Shirley do very well - so will put in at least 1 x Shirley .... interested in flavour above all else.

Looking on this forum .. seems to be my other 3 varieties could be

                  Sungold
                  Beef Master
                  Amish Gold

Anybody have any ratings taste/ripening/yield for Shirley and Rosada be interested how they compare

I'm sure you'll find plenty of opinions about Shirley - I've found it quite bland so don't bother.

                  Rosada is a good choice.

I bought a mixed packet a while back, aimed at children it had five different varieties in it so that's the sort of thing you need to look out for.

Tomato seed keep for 5+ years in a dry cool place - fridge is best. Always best to sow at least 4 seeds so maybe two germinate and you nurture the best looking one with the other as a spare in case of mishaps.

Shirley produce tomatoes that look like the 'perfect' uniform ones in supermarket punnets, only they don't have much flavour. I only grow some for the Village Show, cheapest place I've found is Premier Seeds £1.59 for 15 seeds + 40p P&P http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOMATO-SH...077372?hash=item4177d143fc:g:WdYAAOxye2lSUYxF Premier Seeds also sell the cheapest Sungold seeds I've found, £1.39 for 10 seeds (+ 40p for P&P, but only one 40p per order) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOMATO-CHERRY-SUNGOLD-F1-10-FINEST-SEEDS-/281564017293?hash=item418e85f28d .
