always wanted an iguana i think they are great but a lot of looking after and you need a proper large heated house for them

Sorry Miraflores, I haven't kept iguanas, only small anoles and leopard geckos many years ago. I have also kept Reticulated pythons, White's, Green, Grey and savana tree frogs, Eyed lizards
    and red kneed tarantulas.
This Starred Agama is the nearest thing to an Iguana in the Old World, seen at Bellapais Abbey, Northern Cyprus last month.
Off to Crete tomorrow to see brother and family and hopefully more reptiles and do some bird watching.... weather permitting.

Just remembered, as some SW members may have seen on TV recently, that someone dumped a mature Iguana out on the moors or somewhere as they didn't want it. How cruel and thoughtless, fortunately it was found before it succumed to the cold. It has now been found a good home. [IMG] It could have easily been handed over to the RSPCA.

strongyloden that starred agama is very much like an iguana is it the same size as those iguana a quite a good size.
how cruel and irrisponsible dumping an iguana on the moors, lucky it survived and was found as it can be quite a cold place very windy on the moors.some people cant understand why they didnt leave it outside rspca.

I've just seen these remarks from Rosa and Stronglydon and I know this was regarding an iguana, but I always feel the same regarding our usual types of pet. Why do people dump them so cruelly when provision can be found to rehome.
