Good luck with whatever you decide
Gibraltar wouldn't be a place I would like to live , I have been there a few times, but I don't think I could ever leave England for anything anyway . LOL
We have friends living and working in Dubai and Spain they can't wait to get back home.
Everyone is different and as long as you have a place to come back to and fancy the change , why not give it a go.

I'm the converse in that personally i would stay put, then again i do love the uk in particular our scenary and mountains and could never conceive moving abroad.

However If your hearts in it then go for it.

sussex i would go for it iff you dont you could regret it in the future, when my hubby retires we are staying here but he wants to stay in thailand six months of the year over the winter, we go every year for 4 weeks at the moment, good luck in what you decide to do.

Good Luck SG,with whatever you decide to do,although I think your mind is already made up as to what you are going to do.Good idea to keep your home here and to rent it out because if living abroad turns out not to be for you,you have a home at least to come back to and you won't be like some expats that sold up and headed abroad and now have found that living abroad isn't all that they thought it was going to be so are stuck for the rest of their lives in a foreign country that they hate:D

Good old England has some beautiful scenery from down in Cornwall right up to John O'Groats,it is just the winter weather that lets it down:p

I love this country - it's green, fresh and the weather always changes. The range of plants we can grow here is astounding.

What I don't like is our obsession with speed cameras, CCTV and ANPR (wait for those cameras to start appearing all over your roads - we have several here already, road pricing anyone?). We are the most watched country in Europe now. That bit I can do without. I also find the current government's attempts to take what is left of the "Great" in Great Britain and either tarnish it beyond return or sell it to the highest bidder. I am not going to Spain/Gibraltar (or Portugal!) with my eyes closed and wearing rose tinted specs, but it honestly can't be any worse. They have ID cards, but not as an excuse to "combat terrorism".

And yes, I can do without the rubbish winter weather and the damp summers (it's rained here every day for the last two weeks).
